Bennela is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and are committed to preventing such practices within our operations and supply chains.

This statement outlines the steps Bennela has taken to assess and mitigate the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking, in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Although Bennela is not currently required to publish a statement under all international modern slavery laws, we have chosen to publish this statement voluntarily to reflect our commitment to ethical business practices worldwide.

Our Business & Supply Chain

Bennela is an online retail business operating from the United Kingdom.

Our supply chain includes third-party suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, and service partners located both within the UK and internationally.

We seek to build relationships with suppliers based on trust, transparency, and ethical standards. Our supplier onboarding process includes due diligence proportionate to the size and nature of the supplier and the risks associated with their location and services.

Policies & Governance

Bennela operates policies designed to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery, including:

●       Code of Conduct – setting expectations for ethical behaviour and legal compliance

●       Supplier Standards – requiring suppliers to comply with applicable labour laws

●       Whistleblowing Procedures – enabling individuals to report concerns confidentially and without retaliation

Risk Assessment & Due Diligence

We assess the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain by considering factors such as:

Where higher risks are identified, additional due diligence may be undertaken.

Supplier Expectations

We expect our suppliers to:

●       Comply with applicable wage and working-hour laws

●       Not withhold identity documents or restrict freedom of movement

●       Maintain safe and respectful working conditions

Failure to meet these expectations may result in corrective action or termination of the supplier relationship.

Training & Awareness

We provide appropriate training and guidance to relevant staff involved in procurement, supplier management, and operations to help them identify and respond to potential modern slavery risks.

Training is proportionate to role, responsibility, and risk exposure.

Measuring Effectiveness

We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through:

●       Internal awareness and reporting

●       Ongoing assessment of supply chain risks

As our business grows, we will continue to strengthen and refine our approach.

This statement has been approved by the management of Bennela and is reviewed annually.
